What you're looking at, when you're looking at a Wind Chime.

1. The over all length of the chime, usually expressed in inches, measured from the top of the ring hook to the bottom of the sail. Most (all) Wind Chimes made in the US today are sized in this manner.
2. Ring Hook or knotted loop. All better chimes use a metal ring or strong knotted loop. This isolates the chimes suspension cord from the hanger.
3. Suspension Cord. multi-ply, man made synthetic cord for use outdoors.
4. Suspension Platform. Wood, Metal, or plastic
5. Tubes and finish. Can be steel, aluminum, glass, bamboo, or wood. Hard metals, such as steel or aluminum, produce a sharp tone. Soft metals, such as copper, make a more mellow sound, Bamboo and wood produce a hollow sound.
6. Striker/Clapper. Strikes the tubes to produce the sound.
7. Sail. Catches with wind to move the clapper to strike the tubes.

第一位數字的意思

UPC-A 條碼有12位數字，開端的第一個數字是有特別意思的。其意思如下：

0 - 正常 UPC Code

1 - 保留

2 - 商品的價格會隨著重量而轉變的，如肉類等。

3 - 藥物及醫藥用品　National Drug Code (NDC) and National Health Related Items Code (HRI).

之後的5位數字是生產商的編號(UPC ID number)。 由 Uniform Code Council (UUC)所分配

第7 至 11 個位的數字由生產自行編製的產品號碼。

最後一個位是終檢碼　(Check Digit).

UPC-A 的終檢碼是最後一個數字(第12個)，作用是計算所掃描的條碼是否正確。

   以以下號碼的UPC條碼為例子，終檢碼的計算的方程式如下：

頭12位數字	第13位數字(終檢碼)

       (1). 把於1,3,5,7,9,11 位置的數字加起來

            6 + 9 + 8 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 32

       (2). 再乘以 3.

            32 * 3 = 96

       (3). 把於2, 4, 6, 8, 10 位置的數字加起來

            3 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 3 = 11

       (4). 把(2)及(3)的結果加起來

            96 + 11 = 107

       (5). 再以110減(4)的結果

            110 - 107 = 3

            終檢碼即等如3。

當條碼掃描器掃描條碼的時候，掃描器內的CPU 即會計算和核對終檢碼。只有正確才會輸出到電腦。所以用條碼來輸入資料的錯誤率是十分低，因為每次都會檢查清楚，而且檢查的速度十分快。

關於 (5) check digit

" These chimes are awesome! They sound beautiful and look beautiful! They are sturdy and I love the magnetic feature so that if for some reason you don't want them to chime, you just push the magnet to the top and no longer hear them. " All I can say is the sounds that come from this windchime are so soothing and absolutely beautiful! The only thing I would recommend would be to have some kind of attachment for the strings that you hang it with...just wondering how long they will last in time with the weight of the piece and swaying with the vibrations of the wind? "

" The most wonderful sounding windchime I have ever owned. It is very calming and soothing....not the usual high pitched clinking sound of most windchimes. These chimes remind me of little bells ringing. I only wish I had a place to hang their larger chime. The quality of their product is also superb. I highly recommend this windchime and will probably purchase more as gifts. "
